Nearly 100 curlers at a Festive Bonspiel at Ayr ice Rink provided a big boost for the local Ayrshire Branch of the Multiple Society. Their efforts raised an astonishing £4,880 and still counting !
Organised by Liz Boswell of Darvel and her husband Jim, a popular Christmas feature was the hand crafted Santa’s reindeer made by Jim from ash wood and other natural materials. They alone raised £2,000. Liz said:
“ We were aware of the good work the local Branch does supporting people affected by MS here in Ayrshire. We especially liked the idea that all monies raised stays locally and the branch is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff. Clearly, from the response our supporters feel likewise”
Donald McNeill, chief volunteer fund raiser of the Branch said:
“ What a great start to 2017. We thanks Liz and Jim and all their supporters for this great effort”
